Donna McPherson dove right into helping our NAWBO chapter after joining the organization by volunteering on the Central & Northern NJ board as our treasurer.
As a certified public accountant with over 25 years of experience, Donna keeps her eye on helping her clients grow their businesses. As such, she provides business consulting, income & profit acceleration strategies, and specified CFO services for small businesses and entrepreneurs. She primarily works with female entrepreneurs and businesses owners who, in her words, “are often stretched thin trying to manage their work load while generating the income they need to live the life they want.”
When asked what she enjoys about her work, Donna says, “I love helping entrepreneurs who have the guts to own their own business and enjoy the glory from it. Having worn both hats for over 12 years, I understand the pain and the pleasure of ‘controlling’ one’s own destiny. Additionally, because I’ve had the privilege of directing financial operations for multi-million- dollar companies and also run my own small business, l am able to apply some ‘big business’ strategies to help a small business succeed.”
Donna has spent her entire career in the business and financial arenas. She began in banking, worked as a financial auditor in public and private industries, and was CFO for a leading New York City think tank. Now she applies that expertise by giving small-business owners strategies, guidance, and support to run successful businesses that make money.
When she’s not working, Donna puts travel high on her leisure list because she enjoys meeting new people and seeing new places; she also stays fit by playing tennis and working out. “Other than that, I will curl up on the sofa with a glass of wine and a good book, watch a favorite TV show with my husband, or just hang out with family and friends.”
